Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Cirsium rivulare – ‘Trevor’s Blue Wonder’

Upright, clumping, herbaceous perennial. Typical thistle type leaves. Upright, downy, purple tinged, branching stems carry small clusters of violet-purple flowers in Summer.

Height & Spread: 1.5 x 0.5m in 2 – 5 years.

Hardiness: H7: < -20ºC.

Soil: Any, moist but well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun.

Native Range: Europe.

CARE & BENEFIT 

Dead-head to prolong flowering. Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in Spring.

Highly attractive to many pollinators. Especially bees.
