Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Plant Sorting Pot

Geranium phaeum – ‘George Stone’

Upright, herbaceous perennial. Deeply divided basal leaves, suffused with a deep wine-red colouring towards the
centre, occasionally with maroon at the nodes. Erect stems with mottled reddish orange-brown markings bear wine-red flowers late Spring into Summer. Introduced by Plantsman’s Preference Nursery, UK, 2003/4.

Height & Spread: 1 x 0.7m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness: H7: < -20ºC.

Soil: Any, well-drained soil.

Light: Full-shade to Full-sun.

Native Range: Horticultural Cultivar. 

Remove flowering stems to encourage a second flush. Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in spring.

Attractive to Bees.

This cultivar is registered as under Plant Heritage guardianship.
