Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Bistorta officinalis – Common Bistort

Upright, clumping , herbaceous perennial. Prominently veined ovate leaves and spikes of small pink flowers in Summer and Autumn.

Height & Spread: 1 x 1m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness: H7: < -20ºC.

Soil: Any, moist but well-drained to poorly-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun to Part-shade.

Native Range:UK Native. 

Tidy after flowering. Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in spring.

Attractive to Pollenators & beneficial insects.
