Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Silene flos-cuculi – Ragged Robin

Was known as Lychnis flos-cuculi – Ragged Robin. Upright, herbaceous perennial. Opposite, lanceolate leaves. Erect stems terminal clusters of rose-pink flowers with deeply cut petals from late Spring to early Summer.

Height & Spread:  0.3 x 0.3m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness:  H7: < -20ºC.

Soil: Any, moist soil.

Light: Full-sun to Part-shade.

Native Range: UK Native.

CARE & BENEFIT 

Dead-head to encourage repeat flowering or leave to self sow. Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in Spring.

Attractive to Pollenators & beneficial insects. Food plant for around 27 UK invertebrates.
