Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Ribes rubrum – Redcurrant

I grow three cultivars of Redcurrant for family use. They need pruning each year and we usually propagate a few of each at that time. Plants offered will be at least 1 year old, suitable for training in any form, and one of the following cultivars.
Ribes rubrum ‘Junifer’ (R ),                    A high yielding early season cultivar with good long strigs.
Ribes rubrum ‘Red Lake’ (R ) AGM,      A Mid season cultivar with long strigs and a good yield.
Ribes rubrum ‘Rondom’ (R )                  A Late season cultivar with good yields and a slightly paler berry

Height & Spread: 1.5 x 1.5m in 10-20 years.

Hardiness: H7: < -20ºC.

Soil: Any, moist but well-drained to well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun to Part-shade.

Native Range: Horticultural Cultivars

CARE & BENEFIT 

Prune when dormant according to the form required.
