Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Ajuga reptans – ‘Evening Glow’

Semi-evergreen, rhizomatous mat forming perennial. Glossy dark purple-bronze leaves with whorled spikes of two lipped, deep blue flowers in Spring.

Height & Spread: 0.5 x 1m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness: H7: < -20ºC.

Soil: Any, moist but well-drained soil.

Light: Part-shade to Full-shade.

Native Range: Cultivar of UK Native. 

Cut back flowering spikes once spent.

Attractive to Bees. Food plant for at least 24 UK invertebrate species.
