Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Verbena officinalis v. grandiflora – ‘Bampton’

Bushy, upright herbaceous perennial. Lobed foliage that is deep purple in good light. Fine, wiry branches bearing short, airy spikes of small purplish-pink flower from mid-Summer to mid-Autumn. Selection of a UK Native.

Height & Spread: 1 x 1m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness:  H6: -20 to -15ºC.

Soil:  Any, well-drained to moist but well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun.

Native Range:  UK Native. 

Dead-head to encourage repeat flowering or leave to self sow.

Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in spring.

Attractive to Pollenators & beneficial insects.
