Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Artemisia abrotanum – Southernwood

Erect, deciduous sub-shrub with beautiful feathery aromatic grey-green leaves. Nodding dull yellow flower heads emerge in late summer.

Height & Spread: 0.75 x 0.75m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness: H6: -20 to -15ºC.

Soil: Any, fertile, well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun to Part-shade.

Native Range: E, S & SC Europe. 

Cut back hard to lowest new shoots, desired size and shape, in Spring.

Fragrant foliage. Food plant of at least 21 UK invertebrate species.
