Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Plant Sorting Pot

Centaurea dealbata – Mealy Centaury

Clump forming herbaceous perennial. Oval, lobed leaves have whitish hair beneath. Upright stems carry lilac-pink, deeply fringed flowers, with paler centres in Summer.

Height & Spread: 0.75 x 0.3m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness: H7: < -20ºC.

Soil: Any, moist but well-drained to well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun.

Native Range: Causcaus. 

Dead-head to encourage repeat flowering or leave to self sow. Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in spring.

Grows well in Nutrient poor soil. Attractive to pollenators.
