Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Betonica macrantha – Big Betony

Upright, herbaceous perennial. Toothed oblong basal leaves. Dense spikes of large pinky-purple flowers in Summer.

Height & Spread: 0.75 x 0.3m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness: H7: < -20ºC.

Soil: Any, moist but well-drained to well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun to Part-shade.

Native Range: SW. Asia. 

Dead-head to encourage repeat flowering or leave to self sow. Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in spring.

Attractive to Pollenators.
