Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Centaurea montana – ‘Gold Bullion’

Spreading herbaceous perennial. Downy, bright yellow-green leaves. Upright stems carry thistle-like flowers with pupleish-blue ray florets and deep reddish-purple centers in late Spring to Summer.

Height & Spread:  0.5 x 0.5m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness:  H7: < -20ºC.

Soil:  Any, moist but well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun to Part-shade.

Native Range: Horticultural Cultivar.

CARE & BENEFIT 

Dead-head to encourage repeat flowering. Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in spring.

Attractive to Pollenators. Related to a European Native. Probable food plant for up to 9 UK invertebrates.
