Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Cephalaria gigantea – Giant Scabious

Clump forming herbaceous perennial. Pinately lobed basal leaves. Upright stems carry light yellow, scabious like flowers in Summer.

Height & Spread: 2 x1.0m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness: H7: < -20ºC.

Soil: Any, moist but well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun to Part-shade.

Native Range: Causcaus to Turkey

CARE & BENEFIT 

Dead-head after flowering. Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in Spring.

Attractive to Pollenators & beneficial insects.
