Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Persicaria affinis – ‘Donald Lowndes’ AGM

Mat forming, semi-evergreen perennial. Mid-green ovate leaves with prominent veins. Erect spikes of small pink flowers, darkening to orange-brown as they age, from Summer to Autumn.

Height & Spread: 0.5 x 0.5m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness: H7: < -20ºC.

Soil: Any, moist but well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun to Part-shade.

Native Range: Horticultural Cultivar. 

Tidy after flowering. Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in spring.

Attractive to Pollenators & beneficial insects. Related to UK native.
