Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Plant Sorting Pot

Phlomoides tuberosa – Sage-leaf Mullein

Clump forming, upright, herbaceous perennial. Serrated and deeply veined sagitate basal leaves. Strong upright dark purple stems with successive whorls of hooded, tubular, purple flowers from mid-Summer.

Height & Spread: 1.5 x 0.5m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness: H5: -15 to -10ºC.

Soil: Any, well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun.

Native Range: Europe to SW. Asia.

CARE & BENEFIT 

Leave stems for winter interest. Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in Spring.
