Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Plant Sorting Pot

Saponaria officinalis – Soapwort

Clumping, rhizomatous herbaceous perennial. Upright stems bear ovate leaves and terminal clusters of fragrant light pink to white flowers from Summer to Autumn.

Height & Spread: 1 x 0.5m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness: H7: < -20ºC.

Soil: Non-ericaceous, well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun.

Native Range: Eurasia.

CARE & BENEFIT 

Tidy after flowering. Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in Spring.

Attractive to Pollenators & beneficial insects. Food plant for at least 8 UK native invertebrates.
