Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Viscaria vulgaris – Sticky Catchfly

(Was Lychnis viscaria – Sticky Catchfly). Semi-evergreen, rare UK native perennial. Tufted basal leaves. Stems with sticky sections thought to catch flies (hence the name), carry panicles of purple-red flowers in late Spring to Summer.

Height & Spread: 0.5 x 0.5m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness: H5: -15 to -10ºC.

Soil: Any, moist but well-drained to well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun to Part-shade.

Native Range: UK Native. 

Cut back flowering spikes once spent.

Attractive to Pollenators.
