Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Allium × proliferum – Tree Onion

Bulbous perennial. Often cultivated as an annual vegetable with thick, cylindrical grey-green edible leaves. The flower stems produces small greenish flowers and small edible bulbs.

Height & Spread: 1.5 x 0.5m in 2 – 5 years.

Hardiness: H4: -10 to -5°C.

Soil: Non-ericaceous, well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun.

Native Range: Horticultural Cultivar.

CARE & BENEFIT 

Harvest leaves or leave to form bulbils. Eat bulbils or replant in Summer for onions the following year. Avoid excessive wet in winter.

Attractive to Pollenators & beneficial insects. Edible.
