Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Plant Sorting Pot

Helianthus maximiliani – Maximilian Sunflower

Clump forming herbaceous perennial. Alternate lance shaped leaves curve down and are folded along the mid-vein. Yellow flowers all up the stem from late Summer into Autumn.

Height & Spread: 2 x 1m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness: H7: < -20ºC.

Soil: Non-ericaceous, moist but well-drained to well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun.

Native Range: W N. America. 

Can be Chelsea chopped to reduce height. Seed heads can be left for birds or cut back once spent. Cut back to 4 – 6 ” before growth restarts in spring

Attractive to Pollenators & beneficial insects.
