Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Plant Sorting Pot

Lycopus europaeus – Gypsywort

Upright, clumping , herbaceous perennial. Opposite, pinnately lobed leaves. Whorls of small white flowers at upper leaf joints from Summer to Autumn.

Height & Spread: 0.7 x 0.7m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness: H7: < -20ºC.

Soil: Any, moist but well-drained to poorly-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun to Part-shade

Native Range: UK Native.

CARE & BENEFIT 

Dead-head to encourage repeat flowering or leave to self sow. Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in Spring.

Attractive to Pollenators & beneficial insects. Food plant for around 27 UK invertebrates. Useful as a pond marginal.
