Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Plant Sorting Pot

Solidago altissima – Tall Goldenrod

Rhizomatous, clumping, herbaceous perennial. Lanceolate, toothed, hairy leaves. Upright stems broadly conical sprays of densely packed yellow flowers on horizontal branches from late Summer in to Autumn. This cultivar is registered as under Plant Heritage guardianship.

Height & Spread: 2.5 x 1.5m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness: H6: -20 to -15ºC.

Soil: Any, well-drained to moist but well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun.

Native Range: N. America.

CARE & BENEFIT 

Dead-head after flowering. Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in Spring.

Attractive to Pollenators & beneficial insects. This cultivar is registered as under Plant Heritage guardianship.
