Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Plant Sorting Pot

Inula helenium – Elecampane

Robust, upright herbaceous perennial. Large toothed, elliptic leaves, white-hairy beneath. Yellow daisy-like flower heads to 9cm wide, with narrow rays and a darker centre in Summer.

Height & Spread: 2 x 1m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness: H6: -20 to -15ºC.

Soil: Any, moist but well-drained soil.

Light: Full-sun.

Native Range: UK Native. 

Dead-head to encourage repeat flowering or leave to self sow. Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in Spring.

Attractive to Pollenators & beneficial insects.
