Our Plants

We grow hard to find and unusual hardy perennials with the needs of wildlife and the planet in mind.

All plants are grown from scratch on site, are peat and pesticide free and use organic methods.

Tellima grandiflora – (Odorata Group)

Mounding herbaceous perennial. Rounded, lobed leaves. Upright racemes of small fringed flowers emerge in spring which, unlike the common variety, are fragranced like old fashioned “Pinks” . Flower fringes turn from white to pink to red over time.

Height & Spread: 0.7 x 0.5m in 2-5 years.

Hardiness:  H6: -20 to -15ºC.

Soil:  Any, moist but well-drained soil.

Light:  Full-shade to Full-sun.

Native Range: N. America. 

Dead-head to encourage repeat flowering or leave to self sow. Cut down spent flowering stems and damaged leaves as the new emerge in spring.

Attractive to night flying Pollenators & beneficial insects.

This cultivar is registered as under Plant Heritage guardianship.
